Gabriel Varghese
Biography:
Gabriel Varghese is an associate research fellow at the Kenyon Institute (Council for British Research in the Levant) in East Jerusalem.
His research engages with anti-, post- and de-colonial theatre, performance and literature, and the questions they raise about social movements, dramaturgies of urban life, regimes of race, gender and sexuality.
He is the author of Palestinian Theatre in the West Bank: Our Human Faces (2020), which is based on his doctoral research at the University of Exeter.
Varghese is a co-founder of Battersea Covid-19 Mutual Aid, mobilising over a thousand volunteers to support vulnerable residents during the lockdown.
