Biography:

Ulises Rodríguez Febles is a playwright, actor, director and researcher. His play The Concert was staged at the Royal Court Theatre, London in 2004 after premiering in Havana.

He has worked with the Matanzas' theatre groups Teatro D´Sur, El Mirón Cubano and Papalote and is the 2004 winner of Cuba's Virgilio Piñera Playwright Prize and Spain's Margarita Xirgú. 

He has a BA in Spanish Literature and diplomas in Children's Theatre and Puppet Theatre from Havana's Instituto Superior de Arte de La Habana, as well as teaching History, Playwriting and Literature and Aesthetics. 

Ulises has also written and directed television programmes dedicated to theatre. He is the current Director of the Casa de la Memoria Escénica in Matanzas, a performing arts documentation centre.
